Ottawa Police say they were forced to shoot two dogs late last night in the South Keys area, killing one of them.
It was around 11:30 p.m. when police say they were called to the Bank and Athans Ave. area for people that were screaming.
They say a large aggressive dog immediately attacked them when they arrived on the scene.
They shot the dog, sending it running back into a house.
Officers then saw another large dog that was mauling a person outside the house.
Police shot and killed that dog.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Ottawa bylaw is investigating the incident.
