Ontario's police watchdog says it's investigating an allegation of sexual assault made against an Ottawa Police officer.
Monica Hudon, spokesperson for the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), said the incident under investigation happened six years ago. She said the SIU invoked its mandate in January.
“As this is a case where an allegation of sexual assault was made, the SIU will not be releasing or confirming any further details in order to protect the identity and privacy of the complainant and others involved,” Hudon said in an email.
One subject officer and four witness officers have been designated.
