With one hour to go before the start of Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final, something other than a puck dropped on Sens Mile: power.
Hydro Ottawa is reporting 1213 customers along Elgin Street and surrounding areas are without power tonight.
The utility has reported downed power lines a block away from Elgin, at Somerset and Cartier.
The estimated time of restoration is 1:30 a.m. but puck drop is 8:00 p.m. for Game 7.
It appears, however, that many pubs along the celebratory stretch have been spared the outage.

Power is out at the pump but ...one tv is up & running thanks to Ottawa Fire. Pump's owner says firefighters lent them a generator #sensmile pic.twitter.com/HZYtcoWupy

It appears a tree is responsible for the trouble.
UPDATE: Crews onsite working to restore power as quickly as possible. Cause: tree contact/wires down on Cartier & on Maclaren. #OttNews https://t.co/zGNpIuteLC

Ottawa Police are also saying a hydro transformer in the area failed. They're helping with the clean-up and have closed Cartier Street between Somerset and Gilmour.
More to come.
