The provincial government is allotting $3-million to allow the Ottawa Hospital to begin the process of designing a new Civic campus.
The goal is to update the planning done almost ten years ago to fit in to the suggested new location, the site of the former Sir John Carling building.
Hospital planners should also be able to come up with a projected price tag for the new complex, which they hope to open by 2026.
A decade ago, the hospital pegged the cost at $2-billion.
