Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 45-year-old woman from Quinte West with second-degree murder after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and killed earlier this month.

OPP say officers responded to a crash on West Street in the city of Quinte West at around 1:30 p.m. June 16. A 49-year-old man, identified as Samuel Joseph Andrews, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nicole Lorraine Scardino was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree murder. She is due to appear in a Belleville courtroom Tuesday.
