A rainfall warning has been issued by Environment Canada, which will make for a messy couple of days.
Environment Canada's Peter Kimbell says it "may take awhile" for all the ice to thaw given the amount of water coating the ice. The meteorologist says about 28 millimeters of precipitation fell before 2 p.m. on Monday.
"It's going to be messy and slippery and dangerous for pedestrians," says Kimbell.
Kimbell says the temperature is expected to stay above zero for the next few days with the rain tapering off late Tuesday evening.
Kimbell adds things will be "back to normal" with sunshine and a high of 9 degrees on Wednesday.
