River Ward Councillor Riley Brockington is holding a special meeting tonight to discuss how crime issues in the Carlington area are being addressed.
The evening will include presentations from the Carlington Community Health Centre, Ottawa Community Housing and Ottawa Police.
There have been three homicides in the Carlington area this year ... including the unsolved gang-related shooting of 26-year-old Abdi Jama in front of the now-closed Suya Spot restaurant on Shillington.
But Brockington says he will also point out what the community has going for it.
The Carlington Safety Night will be held at the Alexander Community Centre on Silver Street at 7 P.M.
