With less than 24 hours to go before cannabis legalization, many are still wondering where they'll be allowed to light up.
It's something that's been left for municipal governments to decide.
Speaking on CFRA's The Evan Solomon Show, Federation of Canadian Muncipalities President Vicky May-Hamm says there may be very different rules, depending where you live.
"If you're in a small, rural community, it may not be a problem if you're walking around smoking on a dirt road where those no sidewalks and not close neighbours," May-Hamm said. "But if you're in an urban area, that might become a problem. I'm hearing it a lot here in Quebec, that is a tendency for the cities that are of certain importance."
May-Hamm says she's heard from residents who support setting up designated areas for people to smoke cannabis.
