Gatineau Police have arrested a second man in connection with the 2015 death of Christine MacNeil.
The 25-year-old was shot and killed at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel on October 19, 2015.
57-year-old Emilio Spezzano, of Ottawa, is facing a charge of first-degree murder and is expected to appear in court Thursday.
Spezzano was arrested without incident in Ottawa's east end Wednesday afternoon.
Gatineau Police Sgt. Jean-Paul Le May told reporters Spezzano and MacNeil were romantically involved for approximately four years, but their relationship ended shortly before MacNeil's death. Spezzano was not present at the crime scene the night of the murder, Le May said.
Ottawa's Blake Dooley was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with this case in February 2016. Le May says Dooley and Spezzano "knew each other" but could not elaborate further.
Gatineau Police had previously said the murder was planned.
Le May says no more arrests or charges are expected in this case.
