Ottawa Senators assistant general manager Randy Lee will be back in a Buffalo, New York courtroom later this month, facing a charge of second-degree harassment.
Lee is accused of inappropriately touching and making lewd comments toward a 19-year-old male hotel shuttle driver while in Buffalo for the NHL's scouting combine last week. He was arrested Thursday, May 31 and spent the night in jail. Lee pleaded not guilty to harassment in the second degree the next day.
According to the New York State Unified Court System website, Lee appeared in court Monday, June 4 at 9:30 a.m. Further proceedings are scheduled for Friday, June 22 at 9:30 a.m.
Lee has had his passport returned to him and is allowed to return to Canada. It was confiscated Friday at his arraignment.
If he’s found guilty, Lee would have to pay a fine. Up to 15 days in prison is also possible, but Erie County District Attorney John Flynn has said he does not expect to pursue jail time in this case.
The Ottawa Senators have said they are reviewing the situation. In a statement Monday, the Senators said Lee's status within the organization is unchanged.
