Mike Hoffman is leaving Ottawa, but where he'll finally land is anyone's guess.
The Ottawa Senators have announced Hoffman is part of a trade with the San Jose Sharks that includes another player and a draft pick.
The Sens say the club has acquired forward Mikkel Boedker, defenceman Julius Bergman and a sixth-round draft choice in 2020 in exchange for Hoffman, Cody Donaghey and Ottawa's fifth-round choice in the 2020 draft.

In a press release Tuesday, Senators General Manager Pierre Dorion says, “Today's trade showcases our determination to strengthen the future of the team by improving chemistry, leadership and character in the locker room and on the ice.”
This comes after the Ottawa Citizen first broke a story last week regarding allegations that Hoffman’s fiancée Monika Caryk was behind a campaign of online harassment against Melinda Karlsson and her husband, star captain Erik Karlsson.
Court documents, verified by CTV News and the Canadian Press, show Melinda Karlsson filed for an order of protection against Caryk in May.
Hoffman and Caryk have denied the allegations, which have not been proven in court.
“We are confident it is a step in the right direction for the long-term success of this organization," Dorion says.
The press release did not make mention of the allegations against Caryk, focusing instead on Boedker's statistics and career to-date.
Just hours later, the Florida Panthers announced they had acquired Hoffman in a trade with San Jose.
