Environment Canada is warning of a potentially nasty ice storm this week.
Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says freezing rain and snow will start to fall tomorrow afternoon and continue well into Tuesday.
He says tomorrow night's drive home as well as Tuesday morning's drive to work will be impacted.
"This one could be a pretty notable event given the number of hours potentially we could get freezing rain in the Ottawa area," he said. "Initially estimates are somewhere between about 5 to 10 millimeters of ice accretion . . . which would certainly coat roadways, sidewalks, and potentially cause a few power outages here and there."
A freezing rain warning is in effect from Environment Canada.
