Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is investigating what Ontario Provincial Police are calling an "interaction" between a woman placed under arrest and an officer in North Grenville.
Police say on Monday, November 14, around 12:26 a.m., officers responded to a call for service at a home on River Road in North Grenville.
A woman was arrested at the scene and, while she was being transported to the police station, there was an "interaction" between the woman and the officer, "in which both sustained injuries," according to an OPP news release.
OPP will not comment further, now that the SIU has invoked its mandate.
The SIU is called in to investigate any time police in Ontario are involved in an incident in which someone is hurt or killed or alleges sexual assault.
