Ottawa Police say six men in the Capital have been charged in a province-wide crackdown on child pornography.
One of the men, who had yet to be arrested, turned himself in to police Thursday morning.
Ottawa Police say the six people who have been charged are facing a total of 23 criminal counts between them. Homeland Security Investigations Ottawa is also assisting Ottawa Police in an investigation into a 34-year-old man who lives in the U.S., who is wanted for luring charges and for allegedly encouraging a child in Ottawa to commit suicide.
Two child victims in Ottawa have so far been identified.
The following men have been charged by Ottawa Police:
Jeffrey PARENT, 34 years old of Ottawa:
George STEINBURG, 75 years old of Ottawa:
Kenneth JODOIN, 57 years old of Ottawa:
Jason SAWYER, 21 years old, of Ottawa:
Pierre PAQUETTE, 59 years old, of Ottawa:
James HODGES, 42 years old, of Ottawa:
Ottawa Police said Wednesday Hodges remained at large. He turned himself in Thursday.
The other five men have already appeared in court.
Police expect further charges will be laid as they continue to examine the 38 computers and other devices that were seized as part of the investigation.
The OPP-led initiative involved police forces from 26 different municipalities in Ontario.
Province-wide, OPP say a total of 551 charges were laid against 122 people, including 11 youth. A total of 55 victims were identified and police also seized 17 guns amid their searches.
