Ottawa Police say three keepsake pendants, containing the ashes of a departed loved one, have been found, thanks to a flood of tips from the public.
The items were stolen during a string of break-ins in Vanier earlier this year, which included a funeral home and a church.
Police say the pendants were returned to “an overwhelmed and grateful family.”
However, a stolen laptop, which contained more than 700 musical scores, as well as recordings of sermons going back to 2011, remains missing.
The laptop is described as a Lenovo B50-45 Notebook, Model #59441916
Anyone with information regarding the missing laptop is asked to please contact the Central Break and Enter Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 4533.
43-year-old Steve Gerovac is facing charges of breaking and entering and using a stolen credit card in connection with the robberies in January.
