The prime suspect in a May 24th double-shooting that left a man dead and a woman injured is facing a multitude of charges in northwestern Ontario.
33-year-old Jonathan "Jonny" Ranger was among four people arrested Sunday in Thunder Bay following what police call "two high risk vehicle stops" late that night. Police seized loaded handguns, cash and drugs. More guns, including stolen guns, were found in a home in Thunder Bay later that night following a warranted search.
Ottawa Police have confirmed Ranger is the same man believed to be involved in the double-shooting on May 24th on Farriers Lane in Ottawa. 30-year-old Nicholas Kim was pronounced dead in hospital. 27-year-old Katrina Galloway was injured. Ranger and Galloway have a child together.
Ranger has not been charged in connection with Kim's death, but Ottawa Police issued a statement not long after the shooting naming Ranger as a "wanted suspect."
Thunder Bay Police say they have been in contact with Ottawa Police regarding Ranger. He'll be appearing in a Thunder Bay courtroom on Friday to face 12 weapons offenses, two drug trafficking offenses, drug possession, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, and breach of probation.
