Ottawa Police say three men are now facing attempted murder charges after what they called a “brutal assault” at the Ottawa-Carleton Regional Detention Centre.
Police had been called to the jail on Innes Road last Wednesday for the alleged assault. The 36-year-old victim suffered life-threatening injuries. Police say he remains in hospital in serious condition.
Mohamed Barkhadle, 32; Pierre Senatus, 22; and Jimmy St. Hiliare, 19, all from Ottawa, are each facing a charge of attempted murder.
They remain in custody and will be in court Wednesday.
