Firefighters were called to 463 Cambridge Street South at 5:59 p.m. Friday, on reports of flames coming from one of the apartments.
The fire was under control by 6:17 p.m., but two adults and their cat have been displaced and are being looked after by the Red Cross and the Salvation Army.
The multi-unit building was evacuated, with tenants loaded onto OC Transpo buses to keep warm. It was -12 degrees with a strong wind chill at the time.
