Ottawa Police continue their crackdown on marijuana storefronts.

On Friday, police executed a warrant at 646 Somerset Street West, near Bronson Avenue.

A man and a woman have been arrested and are facing several drug trafficking and possession charges. Police say they are not naming them at this time, in order to maintain the integrity of the ongoing investigation.

They're both facing:

  • 2 counts of Trafficking in a Schedule II substance
  • 7 counts of Possession of a Schedule II substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • 1 count of Possession of Proceeds of Crime

The woman is facing an additional count of Trafficking in a Schedule II substance.

Police also seized a quantity of marijuana, THC edibles, gummies and pills, cash, and cell phones.

This comes just one week after a similar bust on Montreal Road in which a man and a woman were arrested and charged.

Police say these kinds of investigations will continue. Marijuana is only legal when prescribed by a doctor and obtained from an authorized medical marijuana provider.
