Ottawa Police say a 28-year-old man is in custody after an investigation near Chinatown.
Ottawa Firefighters say hazmat teams were called Tuesday night to the scene of a "possible meth lab" in an apartment unit at 126 1/2 Percy Street, between Somerset West and MacLaren. Crews were called around 9:10 p.m. about a strange smell coming from the unit.
Police say a number of volatile substances were found at the apartment, and some of those could be used to produce illicit drugs.
A significant response was called to the scene, blocking off the small stretch of road for several hours.
