The government of Canada is further asking employees who cross the Ottawa River to get to work to remain home Tuesday.
The STO says it is offering free service as of Monday, until further notice.
Further, all Commission scolaire des portages-de-l'Outaouais schools will be closed Tuesday. Lord Aylmer Elementary School, South Hull Elementary School, Eardley Elementary School, Pierre Elliott Trudeau Elementary School, Greater Gatineau Elementary School, Chelsea Elementary School, D’Arcy McGee High School, Symmes Junior High School, Philemon Wright High School, Hadley Junior High School, Hull Adult Ed Centre, and Aylmer Career Centre will also remain closed Tuesday.
Commuters are being asked to avoid using the interprovincial bridges if possible.
