A 36-year-old man has been killed in a shooting in Ottawa's west end.
It's being treated as a homicide.
Ottawa police say calls came in around 9:30 Monday evening reporting a shooting in the 2700 block of Iris Street.
The victim - identified by police as Esmail Sharifi - was found in a parking lot near the Big Rig restaurant.
Diners at the time tell CTV they scrambled for safety when shots rang out.
This morning, police were seen looking for clues in a truck. Two tow trucks were removed from the parking lot just after 6 a.m.
It's believed the victim was a tow truck operator who frequently visited the area.
The Major Crime Unit is investigating.
