UPDATE Ottawa Police investigating homicide on Rideau St.

Police say they responded to a report of a shooting on Rideau St. around 100 a.m. Monday.

Ottawa Police are investigating an overnight homicide on Rideau St. at Augusta. 

They say they responded to a report of a shooting on Rideau St. around 1 a.m., and found an injured adult man.

The victim - 25-year-old Ashton Dickson - was then pronounced dead at the scene.

Family members say he was killed during a dispute over a line for the bathroom.

This is the second shooting in the area of Rideau and Augusta in five days. 

On Thursday, Ottawa Police responded to a call for a shooting in the 400 block of Rideau Street. Shell casings were found on the ground.

A 25-year-old man was also found at the scene suffering from stab wounds.

Dickson had a decorated career as a university football player.

He was an All-Canadian running back and the 2015 AUS MVP as a member of the St. Francis Xavier X-Men.
