Ottawa Police say a pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle near CHEO.

Police were called to the intersection of Smyth Road and Highland Terrace at around 10:00 a.m. Friday.
It appears a male pedestrian was hit by cement truck.
Police say a male pedestrian was on the south side of Smythe road when he stepped off the sidewalk and somehow ended up underneath an east bound cement truck. Investigation is on going. @ctvottawa

Police had closed Smyth Road is between Lynda Lane and Highland Terrace for the investigation, but it reopened by 2:30 p.m.
