A manhunt is underway for a 43-year-old Ontario man, wanted in connection with the death of his stepson.
Seven-year-old Nathan Dumas was found fighting for his life in St. Catharines, Ontario on Friday morning, but died in hospital early Saturday. The cause of the boy's death has not been released.
Niagara Regional Police now say Justin Kuijer is wanted for first-degree murder in connection with Dumas' death.
Police were already looking for him in connection with an attempted murder charge, after a female bank employee at an RBC in St. Catharines was stabbed Friday.
10 minutes prior to the bank stabbing, Dumas was found in critical condition.
Kuijer is to be considered armed and dangerous.
Niagara police are asking to the public to contact them if they have seen Kuijer or his grey 2009 Pontiac Montana van with the Ontario licence plate number, BYTE 392.
When he was last seen on Friday, Kuijer was wearing a black toque, brown leather jacket, dark pants, an orange hoodie and boots.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kuijer or the Pontiac van is asked to call 9-1-1.
