Ottawa Paramedics say the pilot of a small plane suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries after his plane went down in Carp Tuesday morning.
The plane crashed near a home on Old Almonte Rd. at around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Originally, it was believed the plane hit a house. An update from the scene says the plane clipped some hydro wires, but did not strike any buildings. The house at 3219 Old Almonte Rd. did sustain some damage, however.
The plane eventually came to rest in a ditch.
From there, the pilot was extricated by Ottawa firefighters.

The pilot was the only person on board. He suffered a head injury but was stabilized at the scene by paramedics. They drove him in an ambulance to the 417 at Carp Rd., where they met up with an awaiting Ornge air ambulance that took him to the trauma centre.
