The Ottawa Carleton District School board voted Tuesday night to close J.H. Putman Public School, which now makes six west end elementary schools recommended for closure.
The closing of J.H. Putman Public School will be effective upon the opening of a new intermediate wing added to Agincourt Road Public School.
The board's committee of the whole held a marathon meeting Monday night, voting to recommend that Century and Leslie Park Elementary, D. Aubrey Moodie and Greenbank Middle Schools, and Grant Alternative all close their doors.
There is also a recommendation to turn Regina Public School into an Alternative School.
The board meets again to discuss the fate of Rideau High School Wednesday.
