Ottawa Police say a 33-year-old woman, wanted in connection with human trafficking offenses, has turned herself in.
Investigators allege Marina Javier is known to recruit underage girls, sometimes from group homes, for the purposes of human trafficking.
Police say Javier turned herself in Wednesday morning.
She's now facing charges of trafficking persons under the age of 18, gaining a material benefit from trafficking persons under the age of 18, recruiting persons under the age of 18 to provide sexual services, and gaining a material benefit from sexual services provided by persons under the age of 18.
She's also charged with breach of recognizance.
Javier will appear in court Thursday.
Ottawa Police continue to investigate and are concerned there may be more victims.
