The Ottawa Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) says Sir Robert Borden High School will reopen Thursday after being closed Wednesday due to a power outage.
The OCDSB administration building was also closed for the same reason, but it will be open by 7:00 a.m. Thursday.
The Board says the power outage was the result of a fire that affected the main hydro pole that services the school and administration building.
The OCDSB says the school district "has been working with Hydro Ottawa and our contractor to assess the situation, undertake all necessary repairs and ensure the buildings are safe for return to school and work. Work is scheduled to be completed [Wednesday] evening with sufficient time for testing to ensure full operation in the morning."
If anything changes, further updates will be provided Thursday morning.
The board had issued a statement Wednesday night saying the buildings would remain closed Thursday because repair work had not yet been completed, but only minutes later issued a correction to say the school and administration building would open Thursday morning.
