A 19-year-old man who complained to police about being stabbed in the Byward Market last Thursday has been charged in connection with a swarming.
Police say the man approached plain clothed officers around 10:40 p.m. on September 8th to report he'd been stabbed.
Not long afterwards police received a report from another man, who claimed he'd been robbed at gunpoint by three people and that he'd stabbed one of his attackers.
Police arrested the victim of the swarming and ultimately released him without charges.
Police say the man who was stabbed was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries before being charged with robbery, pointing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon.
James Shema has been remanded into custody.
Police are looking for two other suspects in the case. They have no other descriptions other than that they are between the ages of 17 and 21.
