Environment Canada is predicting a spring that should be warmer than the long-term averages in the Ottawa area.
Senior climatologist David Phillips told "News and Views with Rob Snow" that it could be a degree or so higher than the normal temperature.
"It doesn't seem like much," Phillips said.
"But, averaged over a whole month or a whole season, it does represent a significant difference - and you will feel it."
Over the past winter, Ottawa had 42% cent more snowfall than normal, but temperatures were warmer than usual in every month except March.
Phillips noted we can still get snow over the next couple of months - an average of about 25 centimeters.
But he added, with spring now officially here, it won't take long to melt.
