It's a sight unlike anything Ottawa has seen before as La Machine has been thrilling spectators jamming streets on its first full day in the Capital.
Tens of thousands of people gathered to see the 12-metre high, five-metre wide dragon-horse LongMa activate at City Hall and make its way through the downtown.
Smoke poured from the mechanical monstrosity's snout as it roared into the Byward Market.
Large crowds gathered the night before to see the giant spider Kuma to lower from the Notre Dame Cathedral on Sussex.
The two mechanisms were seen in the same place for the first time this morning at the National Gallery.
The storytelling spectacle continues through Sunday, which brings with it some traffic complications.
People heading to work in the core, or coming downtown to see La Machine, are being urged to take public transit, walk, bike or carpool. The City of Ottawa says parts of downtown and the ByWard Market will be turned into temporary pedestrian only zones over the weekend.
A list of the traffic impacts is available on the City of Ottawa's website.
After the daytime show, the creatures came to the Byward Market Friday evening.
