As Christmas approaches, events to get you in the festive spirit can be found all over the city.
The Gift of Lights continues at Wesley Clover Parks. This display is a family-friendly 2 kilometre drive-thru holiday light display featuring a 100 foot light tunnel at the exit, and over 30 static and animated light displays! This new family tradition is presented by MAJIC 100 FM and raising funds in support of the Sens Foundation. 5 - 10 pm.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, you can see the lights, ride a toy train, and enjoy holiday music at Upper Canada Village. Their "Alight at Night" runs from 5 until 9 pm.
The Cumberland Heritage Village Museum's "Vintage Village of Lights" continues this weekend. It's open Friday through Sunday from 3 pm to 8 pm. 2960 Old Richmond Rd in Cumberland.
The 32nd edition of "Christmas Lights Across Canada" is now live! It's centred on Parliament Hill, and a special digital show there will run between 5:30 pm and 11 pm until Christmas Day.
The East End Theatre presents "The Christmas Adventure" a family-friendly musical. Can Peter the Good Elf find the Magic Cookie to save Santa from the machinations of the Evil Snow Queen and save Christmas? Shows are Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Richcraft Theatre, Shenkman Arts Centre, 245 Centrum Blvd.
Centrepointe Theatre’s Tea With Holiday Classics is on this Sunday, December 18. It starts at 10:00 a.m. and features an hour Chirstmas classics, from pop culture favourites to traditional hymns. 101 Centrepointe Drive.
Thirteen Strings presents Handel’s "Messiah" this weekend. Saturday's show is at Knox Presbyterian Church at 120 Lisgar, with Sunday's show at Dominion-Chalmers United Church, 355 Cooper. Both performances begin at 7:30 pm.
Canada’s "Ballet Jörgen" presents "The Nutcracker: A Canadian Tradition" at the Centrepointe Theatre on Satuday. Shows are at 1 pm and 4:30 pm.
For your holiday gifting, stop by Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind and they will take care of the wrapping. A gift-wrapping drop-in is set for Saturday between 11 am and 4 pm and 100% of the proceeds support Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. 4120 Rideau Valley Drive North neare Manotick.

The FANTASEA Christmas Craft Fair is on this weekend at the Bronson Centre.
