The City of Ottawa is opening its doors this weekend. Doors Open Ottawa is on June 3 and 4. More than 150 historically, culturally, and functionally significant buildings will be featured in honour of Canada’s 150th birthday!

Or, take the opportunity to enjoy the summer sun and cycle your way around the city on a Doors Open Ottawa bicycle tour. No bike, no problem! Visitors can visit numerous buildings per day by making their way around the downtown core on foot.

Starting Friday, June 2 and running until January 7, 2018, learn all about how people from around the world first came to this great country of ours. Canada: Day 1 is on at the Canadian Museum of History. Developed by the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, this exhibition uses art, photographs, personal objects and voice recordings to tell the stories of newcomers’ arrivals in Canada. The thematic zones of Transitions, Arrival, Encounters, Finding Your Way and Reflections allow visitors to see the country through an immigrant’s eyes — or relive their own first day in Canada.
