This upcoming weekend is packed with events both above and below ground!
Starting Sunday, July 16 and running until September 14, take in the Ottawa 2017 signature event Kontinuum. This immersive multimedia production, created by Ottawa 2017 and Moment Factory, unfolds in Ottawa’s future Lyon Light Rail Transit (LRT) station. Visitors descend deep underground into an anomaly in the fabric of reality where invisible frequencies take on physical dimension. Elevate your senses and awaken your imagination in this journey where two realms collide. Which path will you choose?

Hit the sand and bump balls around at H.O.P.E. Volleyball SummerFest at Mooney’s Bay. It all takes place Saturday. HOPE’s flagship Volleyball SummerFest event combines recreational volleyball with live rock entertainment. Each year, more than 25,000 players and spectators flock to Mooney’s Bay Beach in Ottawa for the greatest summer party in the region. These participants have helped HOPE donate over $3.5 million in support of more than 110 local charities.
Finally, there’s always room for dessert! This Sunday at the Canadian Agriculture and Food Museum, visit the Ice Cream Festival. Museum visitors will learn about the journey from cow to cone at the Ice Cream Festival. They can practice their milking technique on the Museum’s wooden cow, and learn how dairying technology now includes milking machines and even robotic milkers. Visitors can help make ice cream with an old-fashioned manual ice cream maker, and then taste the fruits of their labour.
