It’s final weekend for Kontinuum. This Ottawa 2017 multi-media experience takes over a section of the LRT tunnel downtown. This is a FREE event. You can either reserve tickets online in advance for specific departure times, or simply arrive on site during operating hours to go through the experience as a walk-up.

As 2017 continues Ottawa Welcomes the World. This Sunday, the Horticulture Building at Lansdowne Park hosts Bulgaria. The Embassy invites you to take part in a memorable cultural exchange and learn about new picturesque places, admire beautiful folk costumes, interact with Bulgarians, and sample Bulgarian traditional food.

It’s a weekend of family fun with the Russell Agricultural Fair! The tradition of agricultural and homecraft exhibits is complemented by the Robertson Amusements midway, truck and tractor pulls, a demolition derby and daily live entertainment for young and the young at heart. It all runs Thursday to Sunday at the Russell Arena.
Ottawa Porchfest is a free community based arts festival that allows local artists to entertain and express on volunteered porches and businesses around the neighborhood. Multiple acts go on simultaneously on porches and in shops throughout the local community. It starts Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and ends with a concert at Parkdale Park from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Firefighters are competing in a grueling challenge of fire-fighting skills at the Canadian FireFit Championships, Wednesday to Sunday at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum.
Cheer on your Ottawa REDBLACKS as they host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at TD Place this Saturday, September 9. It’s a special night, as the REDBLACKS “Thank Hank” and honour Henry Burris, who QB’ed the team to their first-ever Grey Cup victory last season.

This Saturday and Sunday, it’s FibreFest in the town of Almonte. At two locations — the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum, and the Almonte Arena—visitors will find demonstrations, vendors, and exhibits. Local guilds will demonstrate spinning, knitting, weaving, rug hooking, lace making, smocking and quilting. Vendors include spinners, weavers, and fibre artists from across the province, as well as quilt shops and alpaca farms. The Friends of the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum will provide a tea room, featuring homemade goodies, beverages and sandwiches.
