Happy Thanksgiving!
There are several free meals around the Capital this weekend.
On Sunday, the Shepherds of Good Hope hold their annual Thanksgiving meal from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 233 Murray Street. The Salvation Army is holding their meal from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at their 171 George Street location. And Sir Guy Carleton Secondary School is hosting a meal from noon to 2:00 p.m. at 55 Centrepointe Drive.
On Monday, Dinners Unlimited is hosting a meal at the Christ Church Cathedral at 414 Sparks Street from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Ottawa Mission holds its meal at 35 Waller Street from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Ottawa 2017 Signature Event Mìwàte will light up the Chaudiere Falls starting Friday, and running through to November 5. The show begins at 7:00 p.m. every night. The name Mìwàte means “dazzled by a light or fire” in Anishinaabe, the language of the Algonquin people. Light will be used to amplify the energy that comes from the water.

Your Ottawa Senators take on the Detroit Red Wings at Canadian Tire Centre Saturday.
At Proulx Farm, 1865 O’Toole Road, the Hallowe’en sKreamers experience returns for another year. Gates open at 7:00 p.m., and the fright-fest is on every Friday and Saturday until Hallowe’en. The event is also on Hallowe’en night.
The Ottawa Fury FC play a match against FC Cincinnati at TD Place this Sunday.
As 2017 continues Ottawa Welcomes the World. This weekend, China will the guest of honour at the Horticulture Building at Lansdowne Park. Sample the best of Chinese culture from Thursday through Sunday.

In Gatineau Park, experience the changing colours of the fall season with Fall Rhapsody. The free shuttle is also back in service on weekends. For Canada’s 150th anniversary, the NCC is offering a new shuttle route departing from the ByWard Market in Ottawa, and travelling to Champlain Lookout.
