Ottawa Police say they responded to more than 20 crashes Monday morning, as blowing snow moved across the region, causing sudden whiteouts.
Among the issues drivers faced was a complete shutdown of the 417 near Limoges because of poor conditions.

That closure was reported just after 8:00 a.m. Police reopened the highway just before 9:00 a.m.

Ottawa Police responding to a pair of collision on Woodroffe Ave., forcing a road closure between Fallowfield and Slack. A multi-vehicle pileup has been reported at Woodroffe and Fallowfield. Just moments later, a crash at Woodroffe and Slack Rd.
Poor conditions also prompting a road closure in Ottawa’s east end. Trim Rd. closed between Wall Rd. and Navan Rd.
Frank Kenny Rd. was also closed between Colonial Rd. and Régimbald Rd. because of multiple-vehicle collisions, according to Ottawa Police.
Both Trim and Frank Kenny reopened before 10:00 a.m.
Ottawa firefighters were called to the Metcalfe area on reports of a jackknifed tractor trailer on Stagecoach Rd. Monday morning.
