An Ottawa family is happy to have a friend back.
Late Wednesday night, Laura Dennis posted to Facebook, saying her 100 pound, 2-foot tall statue of a Wild Thing from the classic children's book Where the Wild Things Are had been stolen from her Woodward Avenue lawn.
Her post was shared hundreds of times.
Late Thursday night Dennis provided an update, saying a Good Samaritan returned the Wild Thing to her lawn.
It's banged up, she says, missing its feet and horns, as well as an ear, but she's happy to have it back.
Dennis says she hopes to have the statue repaired.
