Ottawa Police have charged a woman who allegedly arrived at Parliament Hill in a stolen taxi earlier this week, and attempted to enter Centre Block claiming to be an employee.
27-year-old Catherine Cote faces two counts of theft under $5,000, for the incident on Monday.
Police say she abandoned the stolen cab on Wellington, right in front of the Hill. When she was denied access to centre block because she didn't have the proper ID, she allegedly jumped into an unoccupied idling vehicle and drove off.
RCMP arrested the woman at the lower exit of the hill.
Police say a referral to a mental health court has been made.
