A woman in her 50s was sent to hospital in critical condition after being struck by a small van.
Emergency crews were called to St. Laurent Boulevard and Belfast Road for two separate collisions just before 7:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Ottawa paramedics say she suffered head and chest injuries, as well as a fractured femur.
Ottawa Police say the pedestrian was involved in one of the two crashes.
Commuters are asked to avoid the area.
