Premier Kathleen Wynne has announced $105 million in funding for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre.
The funding is earmarked for a new facility that would combine several services under one roof.
The aim is to reduce wait times, provide more specialized care, and make getting that care more convenient for parents.
CHEO and the OCTC announced a merger in 2016. The two expect to be fully integrated by April 1, 2018.
Wynne says the $105 million in funding is included in the Ontario Liberals’ pre-election budget, set to be unveiled March 28.
