An iconic Ottawa venue has confirmed it's closing its doors.
Zaphod Beeblebrox posted a statement on its website saying it will shut down May 14th, after reportedly telling customers last weekend the closure was coming.
The statement cites "uncertain economic times" as it thanks performers, staff and customers.
The club first opened on Rideau Street in 1989 and moved to York Street in 1992.
Founder and owner Eugene Haslam sold Zaphod's to an employee in 2015.
