OC Transpo has pulled more than 40 buses off the road after an issue with a single double-decker.
Director of Transit Operations Troy Charter says in a statement a driver had reported smelling some fumes on a bus Thursday night. The source of the fumes was traced to an overheated wiring harness.
Charter says nothing caught fire, that no one was at risk, and that this is not related to a blaze last week that destroyed a double decker during the Tuesday morning commute.
After contacting the manufacturer, Charter says they've pulled 43 double-deckers off the road to inspect and replace the affected wiring harnesses.
There will be minor scheduling adjustments Friday evening, but Charter expects service will return to normal by Monday.
