Despite the spring-like conditions in the last week, winter isn't through with us just yet.
Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather statement calling for up to 15cm of snow starting late Monday through Tuesday.
The snow is expected to start sometime around midnight with around 5cm through the overnight hours and another 10cm during the day, possibly mixed with ice pellets.
Environment Canada Severe Weather Meteorologist Rob Kuhn explained that this storm will bring lasting snow, as it expected to stay cold this week.
"Any snow that does fall should probably stay and keep things nice and white and much more winter-like than what we've had the last few days," he said.
This could mean good things on the horizon for the canal.
The world's longest skating rink was closed over the weekend due to the warmer temperatures.
