Half a dozen very heavy clothing donation bins were stolen from spots around town overnight on Wednesday.
All six, belonged to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Ottawa.
The steel bins weigh in at about one thousand pounds apiece and would require more than one person and a truck to move them.
BBBSO Executive Director, Susan Ingram explained the silver lining of the situation is they pick up donations from their 20 bins, three times a week.
"Most of the bins had probably already be emptied," she said. "Thank you for the donations; we did probably get them if you donated them on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday."
This isn't the first time this organization has been targeted.
Ingram said that their Gatineau counterpart had five metal bins stolen from them in October.
She said there's no way to know for sure what these bins are being used for but she speculated that perhaps they are being repainted and used for something else.
Reports have been filed and anyone who may have spotted something suspicious on Wednesday night or Thursday morning should contact police.
