Craig Anderson will start in goal in Sunday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers, a day after the Ottawa Seantors announced his wife, Nicholle, has been diagnosed with cancer.
Senators coach Guy Boucher says there’ll be no other changes to the Senators line-up Sunday night.
On Saturday, Senators general manager Pierre Dorion said Anderson had rejoined the team in Edmonton after a brief personal leave last week. Dorion said he joined the team with Nicholle’s blessing and encouragement.
The team’s coaching staff will wear Hockey Fights Cancer ties at the game in support of the Andersons.
Dorion says any further updates on the stage and type of Nicholle's cancer will come from the couple should they address the media in the coming days.
