Kanata South Councillor Alan Hubley says his ward is dealing with an unusual amount robberies where items are being stolen from vehicles.
Joining Kristy Cameron on The Newsfeed, Hubley says mostly teenagers are the ones doing this.
"The majority of the cases are young people, at night, going around the neighborhoods trying car doors. And if the car door is open, they're going in and they're getting valuables such as cellphones, wallets, GPS's, even just the spare change in the car. So, they're rifling through it and then moving on."
Hubley says there are very few cases of actual vehicle break-ins in his ward.
He says residents in the ward are asking for more police presence at night, but all that needs to be done to avoid the robberies is making sure your car doors are locked.
