The NHL has made a vague announcement regarding an event planned for Ottawa next year to mark the league's centennial.
In a piece written for nhl.com, the league says a "celebration" will take place December 19th, 2017 marking the 100th anniversary of the first NHL games.
There are no other details.
In a teaser video about the NHL's centennial, there is footage of Parliament Hill when it mentions the "celebration," which will likely only continue to fuel speculation about an outdoor game possibly happening at that site for Canada 150.
The league will also mark the 125th anniversary of the donation of the Stanley Cup by Lord Stanley of Preston from March 15th to the 18th in the capital.
Events are planned across North America for the NHL centennial with Wayne Gretzky acting as an ambassador.
