Ontario Provincial Police are hoping you can help solve a nearly nine-year-old missing person case that police are now investigating as a homicide.
65-year-old Calvin Vanness (pictured above) went missing from his home in Belleville on March 26, 2008. He had made plans to visit family, but never arrived.
His car--a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix, 4-door, grey with red flames on the side--was found in Kingston nearly a week later, on April 1, 2008, but he was not in it. Investigators believe someone else may have used the car before it was located.
Vanness' body has never been found.
Police now believe he was murdered.
There is a $50,000 dollar reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
Any person having information regarding the person(s) responsible for what police believe is the murder of Calvin Vanness should communicate immediately with the Director of the Criminal Investigation Branch, Ontario Provincial Police, at 1-888-310-1122 or (705) 329-6111, or their nearest police authority.
Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
